Re-boot for a Healthier You

Are you struggling living a healthier lifestyle? Do you want to be a healthier you? Are you feeling stuck or resisting? Were you doing really well and then just stopped? I know the feeling, I have been there.

Are you ready for a re-boot.

I have put together some suggestions for you to get back on track with being a healthier you.

It sounds like it should be such an easy thing thing to do but it isn't. There are just too many unhealthy choices out there that are fast and easy. Making it easy to make the wrong choice.

I suggest you go slow, take small steps each day. Going slow can make it easier to stick to and can have a positive effect on your overall health. Look at the items I have outlined her for you. What can you do to start focusing on a healthier lifestyle? Pick a couple of easy ones and a couple of ones that are a bit harder. Try them for a week, see how they fit into your life. Each week check the items and ask yourself can I add 1 more or 2 more.

A healthier lifestyle isn't just your physical side. Yes your physical self is very important but equally important are your emotional, mental and spiritual self. Working on each part of you creates a balanced healthy lifestyle.

Eating and living mindfully are both part of maintaining a healthier livestyle.

Here are 26 ways to be healthier and improve your overall wellbeing.

Wake up Early: Getting an early start gives you extra time in the morning for you.

Gratitude: Being grateful starts as soon as you wake up,take a few moments to reflect on the things in your life that you are grateful for. Throughout your day practice a gratitude attitude.

Morning Stretch: Take the time to wake your body up by giving it a good stretch. Try to schedule in 30 minutes of stretching each morning.

Journal: Do a morning journal. What are your goals? Where do you want to be in a year from now? Think about what makes you happy. Write about it, get to know yourself.

Affirmations: Practice positive affirmations. A good way to start doing affirmations is to start each sentence with "I am", I am happy. I am living a healthier life. Write out as many I am statements that resonate with where you are or want to get to.

Drink Water: It is a great practice to drink a large glass of water first thing in the morning, even better if you have lemon or organic lemon juice to add to it. Try to get in 8 glasses of water during your day.

Eat a Healthy Breakfast: Eggs, protein and fruit are all good foods to eat in the morning. Hemp seeds are a healthy protein, they can be added to cereal, yogurt, smoothies or muffins. Eating a healthy breakfast will jump start your metabolism for the day.

My Healthy Idea: If you are hoping to get healthier or lose weight I would suggest starting by eliminating all flour from your diet. That means anything with any type of flour is out. It has been my experience that eliminating flour starts a big positive change in eating habits. Try it for a month, see how you do.

Healthy Lunches: Consider making your own lunch instead of going out for lunch. Choose healthy food options. If you have decided to stop eating flour you can still make items like tuna salad, egg salad, chicken salad, instead of bread have your salad on lettuce. Try to avoid processed and refined foods.

Limit Alcohol and Caffeine: Limit your alcohol and coffee consumption to no more than one a day.

Exercise regularly. Regular exercise is essential for keeping your body healthy and strong. Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise a day.

De-Stress: Deep breathing exercises, meditation, yoga, tai chi and walking are all forms of t de-stressing.

Be Kind: Practice kindness throughout the day. Look for ways to be kind

Get outside: Get some fresh air. Time spent outside will reduce stress and improve your overall wellbeing. Go for a walk at lunch time, if possible listen to some uplifting music. Take some time to connect with nature even if it is taking a step outside.

Disconnect: Take a day off social media and/or start to limit your time on it. If you must go on it limit it to positive educational item.

Positive Alignment: Watch your self talk, keep it positive. Align your thinking, words and actions to the positive.

Eliminate Negativity: Walk away from negativity, negative people, negative news.

Declutter: Declutter your home, your work space, your garage, your car. Give yourself room to breathe, room to relax, room to just sit and not have to look at all those things that need to be dealt with. Simplify your life.

Donate Unused Items: Look around are there items you no longer use? If so donate them to someone that will use them. If there are some items you are unsure about put them in a box in the basement, put the date on the box, if you haven[t used whats inside in a year, donate it.

Self-Reflect: Who are you, what are your values, what do you like, what do you want from life? What are 5 things you would like your friends to say about you in 5 years, in 10 years? Find some goals in your answers.

Let Go: Let go of the past, its over. We waste so much time thinking about our past, things we can't do anything about now. If you think there is something you need to do about the past, make amends for what you did or didn't do and let it go.

Smile: A smile goes a long way it lights you up, it welcomes others to you. It opens the door to friendships.

Have a Spa Day: Treat yourself to a facial, massage, pedicure or manicure. Or just have a long relaxing soak in the tub. Be kind to yourself.

Live With Intention: Write out daily to do lists, cross them off when you have completed them. Be focused on living your life according to your values.

Step out of Your Comfort Zone: Join a club, take a class, learn something new. Expand your horizons. Learn and grow, gain confidence.

Connect with Positive People: Do a search of the people in your life, keep the positive ones and limit or rid yourself of the negative ones.
