By now you will have noticed that we post once a week in our words of wisdom category. We developed this category to help focus your energy once per week on a word and to provide something for you to consider.
My Mom and I used to have a practice that everyday we would pick a word and use that word to set the intention for that day. We wanted to do that here, but felt that once a week was a better fit for us.
To get the most out of this weekly word of wisdom, take time to focus on it and acknowledge what in your life is working with that word and what you want to change. We have included an affirmation that you can use to support your focus on bringing more positive energy into your life, but feel free to create your own word.
The words we use have a powerful impact on our lives. They shape our thoughts, beliefs, and actions, and can ultimately shape the outcomes we experience.
Here are a few ways that the words we use can affect our lives:
The words we use can shape our reality. The way we describe and label things can shape our perception of them. For example, if we constantly label ourselves as "lazy," we may start to believe it and act accordingly. On the other hand, if we use empowering language like "I am capable and competent," we may start to believe it and take action towards our goals.
The words we use can affect our self-esteem and confidence. The way we talk to ourselves can have a huge impact on our self-esteem and confidence. By using kind, compassionate language towards ourselves, we can build self-confidence and self-worth.
The words we use can influence our relationships. The way we communicate with others can have a big impact on the relationships we have. Using positive, constructive language can help build strong, supportive relationships, while using negative or dismissive language can damage relationships.
The words we use can affect our success. The words we use can influence our actions and ultimately, our success. By using empowering language, we can set ourselves up for success and achieve our goals.
So, the next time you catch yourself using negative or disempowering language, try to reframe your thoughts and words. By using positive, empowering language, you can start to see the positive impact it can have on your life.
